This is infuriating.

Well this pisses me off.
And people say the feminist movement is irrelevant. It’ll be irrelevant when we’re equal, and hey look, we’re not equal.

Hey look, it’s also misleading. But you probably don’t care about pesky little facts. You’d much rather just cry about a nonexistent problem.
But let’s break it down really quick. The reasons men are paid more than women are as follows:
Men work more hours / longer shifts
Women get benefits that men don’t (like, for instance, you guys pop babies out of your vagina, and are given PAID time to handle that, and take care of your kids, and breastfeed them, and all that stuff, and we don’t, and we’re not afforded the same PAID time off)
Men negotiate wages better and more aggressively than women (that is a proven fact)
More is expected of a man than is expected of a woman doing the same job (for instance, who is expected to do heavy lifting, or other strenuous tasks?), which translates into higher pay for the man than the woman
Women are much more likely to work part-time jobs than men
Men are more likely to pursue degrees in more lucrative fields than women (mostly because women have the luxury of not having potential income be a major factor in their career choice, whereas men have to pick a career that will allow them to support their families)
Sorry ladies, hate to rain on your pity parade.
Quit crying, you’re not oppressed. You have it pretty easy, actually. You have a role to fulfill in society, and so do men. You can choose to eschew that role, and that’s fine, but let’s not pretend that there’s some systematic oppression going on here, you’re all just a bunch of whiney babies (the feminists who reblogged this, not women in general).

Also, just because a man and a woman have a bachelor’s degree doesn’t mean they’re both out working the same job. I can have a bachelor’s degree and go out and get a $60k job, or a $40k job or anything higher, lower, and in between. It’s a poor comparison to start with.
The fact that we’re (females) all sitting here typing is proof that I’m not oppressed. I’m attending an amazing college, I can vote, I can get married if I want to whoever the hell I want, or I can stay single. I can go work full time, I can work part time, or I can stay at home and raise a family. I have choices that I can exercise on a daily basis. Yeah, they might not be identical to men’s choice because on the base level, men and women are not the same. But to hell with anyone who tells me that I’m oppressed. I refuse to label myself as that ever, because I refuse to be it. And frankly, I don’t understand why anyone is going around parading the fact that they’re oppressed. Good for you. Congrats. Or you can refuse to label yourself as “oppressed” and go out and use those rights that you have. It’s your choice.

^ The last commentary <3. And I’m pretty sure different people earn different Bachelor’s Degrees, too. It’s not like they’re all earning the same exact degree, getting the same exact job, working the same exact hour, and making different wages.

I just need to have this on my blog.

Okay, so I’m not condoning being mindlessly rebellious and never trying to talk things over with your mother, but if it were me, I’d just fucking do it. Once it’s shaved she can’t really do anything but yell at you.

Thanks, Ginna ;; and believe me, I’m not just all ARGH MOM IHU UGH YOU DON’T KNOW MY LYFE

It honestly wasn’t meant to be this big deal to me. It was just

“Hey i’ve seen people work a shaved hairstyle and my hair is DEFO damaged beyond repair at this point

    2+2 = i wanna shaved head”

    maybe if I have my dad do it while she’s away. I’d do it but I’m legitimately worried I will cut myself or cut it in a way where I CAN’T wear it pretty. If it’s a subtractive process I’d like it to be done right the first time lol ;;
